One large file is the key. I had hoped I could just point NotebookLM at say a folder from Obsidian, but 20 files is the max. You figured out how to do it.
Mark, it's too bad that Readwise doesn't have an import function from Obsidian, although they do the reverse. A thought.. since Obsidian files are markdown format, could you make copies, and then combine them into one large file for use with NotebookLM? See google search for some possibilities:

I have used NotebookLM. I am going to have to explore saving content from Readwise to a large file.
